Project Overview
Artisan Goods Co. is a premium marketplace for handcrafted products from independent artisans worldwide. They needed a platform that would reflect the premium quality of their products while making it effortless for customers to discover and purchase unique handmade items. We built a visually stunning e-commerce experience that celebrates craftsmanship.
The Challenge
The primary challenge was creating a shopping experience that felt as premium and curated as the products themselves. Each product is unique, requiring rich visual storytelling. The platform also needed to handle complex shipping calculations for artisans in 30+ countries, multi-currency support, and a commission-based payment splitting system.
Our Solution
We built a custom React storefront with immersive product pages featuring high-resolution image galleries with zoom, 360-degree views, and artisan story sections. Algolia powers instant search with faceted filtering by material, origin, and technique. The Stripe Connect integration handles automated payment splitting between artisans and the marketplace, with support for 12 currencies.
